Information for Job Seekers

Fitted for Work helps women obtain work by providing business clothing, and presentation and interview skills. In the process Fitted for Work helps build self-confidence and assists women towards attaining self-sufficiency and financial independence.

Fitted for Work takes clients by referral only.  Referral agencies include job networking agencies, tertiary institutions and other organisations committed to  supporting women improve their life chances. Generally it is expected that women coming to Fitted for Work will have a job interview already scheduled.

Fitted for Work services are free of charge.  Please ask your consultant to book you in for an appointment by going to www.fittedforwork.org.

Once an appointment is made, the job seeker comes to Fitted for Work where a volunteer helps her prepare for her interview.  Volunteers work with clients to put together one interview-appropriate outfit, including accessories. Personal grooming dos and don'ts are reviewed.  A volunteer helps the client prepare for the interview by asking typical interview questions and other job search basics

Once employed, clients may return for another outfit to wear on the job.
As part of its mission of supporting women to improve their job prospects, and their lives, Fitted for Work runs free career and personal development workshops to help women function more confidently in the workplace. These include communication, money management, business etiquette, and image development.
