Since 2005, Fitted for Work has transformed the lives of 10,000 women. As a not-for-profit organisation and the first of its kind in Australia, our mission is to assist women experiencing disadvantage to get work and keep it. We do this by providing a free personal outfitting and interview service at our boutiques located in Melbourne, Parramatta and Morwell and through our mentoring and transition to work programs.
Through mutual respect, compassion, integrity and trust, our dedicated staff and trained volunteers help women gain the self-esteem and confidence to achieve their goal of sustainable employment. Our most recent Melbourne survey revealed that 75% of the women we’ve dressed were employed within three months of their visit to Fitted for Work.
Fitted for Work is a not-for-profit with a real difference;
- We’re 100% client focused. That’s why we’re expanding our services to other regions and offering deeper support to clients through our transition to work programs thus ensuring real employment outcomes.
- We actively advocate on behalf of, and with, women experiencing disadvantage to directly improve their access to sustainable employment.
- We’re committed to becoming financially self-sustainable through innovative and profitable social enterprises such as Dear Gladys, our vintage and contemporary boutique.
Fitted for Work also continues to expand thanks to the generous support of donors, funding providers and our pro-bono supporters.

I’m 19 and I’ve been unemployed for two years. I’ve just got my TAFE certificate and have a job interview next week. I think I’ve scrubbed up quite well and look really professional. Thanks Fitted for Work! ---Bianca
